The AWE exhaust for the MK6 GTI is a best of breed system that features fully mandrel bent tubing, thick .065″ wall T304 stainless steel, multiple slip joints for easy adjustment, and a signature sound track that only AWE can deliver.
This cat back system is topped off with 102mm slash-cut tips in diamond black.
This system mates up to the stock down pipe, ready for action without affecting emissions equipment.
Why did AWE choose 2.5 inch and not 3.0 inch diameter for their MK6 exhaust?
Their first 2.0T exhaust prototypes were indeed 3.0 inch, but they found that the effort it took to move the large mass of air in the 3.0 inch system at lower RPMs resulted in a loss of torque with very little offsetting gain up top.
